Planning A Family Trip!: Going on a family trip is fun and exciting! It is the time when we anticipate most. However, you need a proper planning in order for it not to go wrong or ended up in a mess. Who wants to have their vacation ruined just because they were not properly planned beforehand? Here are the tips for you to plan the trip!
First step is to check the calendar and arrange the vacation on a date where everyone is free – this is when you need to merge everyone’s holiday schedule in order not to leave anyone out from it. Check the kids’ school holidays, your partner’s holiday or annual leave and your own. It is best to go on a trip during school holidays as the kids will have no problems skipping school.
Second step is to make a research on the destination – where are the famous tourist spots, what are the famous restaurants or food that can be found there. You can make a theme for your vacation as well; either you want to have food trip, sightseeing, leisure or combinations of all. If you have kids, it is best to find for places which would excite the kids instead of plain boring destinations. Once you are done with the research, plan on the activities that you will be doing and the places you are going to visit. Make an itinerary – budgets, duration etc.
Third, start booking your stay. If you are travelling with kids, it is advisable to stay at one place only instead of hopping around from one hotel to another. You can book a hotel room from any popular website such as Agoda.com, Booking.com and Trivago where you can compare prices. However, if you prefer staying at apartment or house, you can check Airbnb.com. Cater your budget and choose the right place to stay. Always read the reviews and check the rating of the place. Avoid booking randomly without checking first as you need to have a comfortable stay for your family trip.
Fourth, make research on the transportation. Do you have to rent a car? Travel by bus or train? Make sure you have done some research beforehand and contact the rental place if you were going to rent a car. If you were to travel by public transport, search on how you can get cheap travel pass or what are the tricks.
Fifth, bring the necessary clothes only, do not bring extra shirts or anything as you might end up shopping for more during your trip. It is always good to bring light luggage. In addition, if you are travelling with kids, prepare their attire according to the days you are staying, that way, it is easier to pack and unpack.
Lastly, wake up early on the day of the trip and arrive early at the airport/bus station. Make a checklist!
Enjoy the trip!
